Born and raised in Bulgaria, he began tattooing long before the industry gained mainstream recognition. He developed his craft during a time when tattooing demanded resilience, technical precision, and deep artistic commitment. Those early years shaped a disciplined foundation that continues to define his work today.

Sweden became his proving ground, where he spent six years refining his technical expertise, expanding his artistic range, and elevating his standards to an international level. During this period, he emerged not only as a skilled tattooist but as a serious craftsman dedicated to continuous growth.

For the past fifteen years, Svetlyo has been based in San Francisco, where he has built a distinguished reputation as both an artist and educator. With over 23 years of professional experience, he specializes in realistic, Asian-inspired, and color fantasy tattoos—complex, highly detailed compositions designed to move with the body and stand the test of time.

His excellence has been recognized with 22 international tattoo awards, reflecting both technical precision and artistic innovation. In the United States, he was granted citizenship under the Extraordinary Ability (Special Ability) category, one of the highest professional recognitions awarded to individuals who demonstrate sustained national and international acclaim in their field.

Svetlyo is also a proud member of the Swedish Professional Tattoo Association, maintaining strong ties to European professional standards and ethics.
